ACG Advocacy, LLC adds Roberto Fierro as a Partner

Roberto Adrian Fierro Strategic Partner ACG Advocacy

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – ACG Advocacy, LLC is pleased to announce that Roberto Fierro has joined the ACG team as a Partner. Roberto Fierro joins ACG after a decade of working in government relations and advocacy. Roberto joins ACG from his position as Director of Legislative Strategy for BSA | The Software Alliance.

Managing Partner and ACG founder Shawn Smeallie said, “We are excited to add Roberto to the team. He brings significant industry experience and great relationships inside and outside of Congress to the firm. He is also a wonderful guy, and I look forward to working with him.”

While at BSA, Roberto engaged Democrats in both chambers on behalf of the global software industry on policies including, but not limited to, data privacy, artificial intelligence, content moderation, digital trade, cybersecurity, law enforcement access, and workforce development. Prior to BSA, Mr. Fierro was Principal at D&P Creative Strategies. He advocated on tech, telecom, energy, fintech, and higher education policies while advising clients on diversity and inclusion and third-party engagement. In 2012, Mr. Fierro served as Vice President of Solidarity Strategies during that election cycle and worked with labor, environmental, and women’s organizations to engage and educate their members. Before that, he was a Graduate Fellow at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, with placements at the World Bank’s Civil Society Team in Washington, DC, and the Mexican Senate’s Bicameral National Intelligence Committee in Mexico City.

Senior Partner Sheryl Cohen highlighted, “Roberto is smart and creative, with a deep and diverse professional background that will be a great asset to ACG and our clients. He is both well-liked and well respected on and off the Hill, and we are so excited to have him joining our team.”

In addition, Mr. Fierro has taught students in a K-12 environment in Washington, DC, and San Diego, CA. He contributes a variety of skills and experiences, including but not limited to: international relations and cross-cultural communication; finance and administration in local government; and local management of, and global engagement with, civil society organizations.

A native of Tijuana, Mexico, Mr. Fierro grew up in a bilingual, dual-culture environment that has driven his passion for furthering the development of marginalized people and dedication to providing opportunities to underprivileged communities. Mr. Fierro holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of San Diego, and a master’s in International Studies from the Josef Korbel School at the University of Denver, where he serves on the Korbel Alumni Council.
