Joe Nickerson

Joe Nickerson serves as the Legislative Director at ACG Advocacy, managing the day-to-day work and communications on client accounts, while overseeing and helping to direct the workflows of the research team. During his time at ACG, Joe has worked with clients across various business sectors to create comprehensive federal advocacy strategies, advance federal legislation, monitor and report on issues impacting business, build grass roots coalitions, and support client communications efforts. Joe’s areas of focus include, but are not limited to, the automotive sector, non-profit organizations, financial services institutions, and anti-doping authorities.

Joe began his work with ACG Advocacy in 2016 as a summer intern before joining the staff full-time in June 2017. Joe has supplemented his work in Washington D.C. by volunteering on several congressional campaigns for candidates in New York’s 21st congressional district, Maine’s 2nd congressional district, and Virginia’s 4th and 10th congressional districts. He also interned for the St. Lawrence University Career Service’s department, helping organize the “SLU Connect D.C.” program, where students connect and network with alumni on an annual trip to Washington D.C.

From Bedford Hills, New York, Joe graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2017 with a B.A. in Political Science. At St. Lawrence, he served as the President of the Thelomathesian Society (Student Government) and was also a member of the Men’s Lacrosse Team. Joe is a brother to seven sisters, an avid New York sports fan, and a proud resident of Cleveland Park.
