Julia Convertini

Julia Convertini joins ACG Advocacy after several years of experience in Washington, D.C., having worked in both the private sector and Capitol Hill.

Prior to joining ACG, Julia served as the senior legislative assistant to Representative Jim Hagedorn (MN-01), in which she was responsible for a portfolio that included the Congressman’s Small Business Committee work, health care, veterans’ affairs, and labor issues.

Ms. Convertini brings experience in developing downtown-focused policy priorities aimed largely at combatting the residual hardships felt by America’s small businesses and health care systems in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Immediately after graduating in 2016, Julia worked on Representative John Katko’s (NY-24) 2016 reelection campaign, a seat that was long regarded as the top swing district in the nation. After that victory, Julia came to D.C. in 2017 to serve as political coordinator for the Republican Attorneys General Association, a role that allowed her to continue her passion for campaigns in assisting on various AG races across the country. Julia later transitioned her campaign expertise to Oxford, Mississippi where she served as a field representative on Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith’s 2018 Special Election.

Given her political and legislative career spanning from Central New York to the Bible Belt, and the Midwest, Julia has developed an understanding of the policy needs of America’s downtowns and rural communities. Moreover, she has utilized her experiences and the valuable relationships cultivated along the way, to actively engage public and private stakeholders in collaboratively working towards commonsense solutions to address those needs.

Ms. Convertini graduated from SUNY Cortland with a degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science. In her free time, Julia can be found rooting on the Buffalo Bills, taking long scenic runs around Capitol Hill, and spending time with her incredibly precious niece and nephews.
